Summer Internship Opportunity

Citizens for Tax Justice is seeking two full-time interns for the summer of 2007. Interns will assist with CTJ's research and outreach efforts. Applicants should be highly motivated, energetic undergraduate or graduate students who are seeking an opportunity to make a difference in a progressive environment. Basic requirements for the position include solid research and writing skills and an interest in learning about progressive fiscal policy. Some coursework in economics, and previous research experience, is a plus.

Interns are encouraged to participate as full-time staff in CTJ activities, including staff meetings and other activities.

This is a PAID ten-week internship ($230/week). Internships are sponsored by the Everett Summer Internship Program .

Citizens for Tax Justice was formed to give low- and middle-income working Americans a greater voice in the crafting of tax policy. CTJ specializes in providing practical analysis of tax issues to activists, policymakers and legislators at all levels of government. CTJ has engaged in advocacy and research on tax policy since its founding in 1979, with a focus on the distributional consequences of both current law and proposed changes.

Applicants should submit the following:

1) A resume.
2) A cover letter explaining your interest in working for CTJ.
3) The names and contact information of at least two references.

The deadline for applications is March 16, 2007. We will let all applicants know of our decision by mid-April.

Applicants may send their materials by email (sending the resume as an attachment) or regular mail to the intern coordinator. Either method is equally acceptable.
