Public Financing Issues are at the Heart of the Proposed West Side Stadium and Javits Center Expansion

Thursday, April 29th from 8:30 - 10:00 am (starting promptly)

The Open Society Institute 400 West 59th Street*

Last month, Governor Pataki and Mayor Bloomberg called for the use of $2 billion in public financing for the Jets Stadium and the Javits Center Expansion on the Far West Side of Manhattan. The proposal includes several funding streams such as an increased city hotel tax, reserve funds from Battery Park City and lease payments by the Jets. The purpose of this forum is to help the public better understand these complicated and controversial financing mechanisms. The forum includes a panel of experts with a question and answer period.

Panelists:

Alan Anders - NYC Office of Management & Budget
